Re: COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
As you are aware we have acted responsibility to keep the school open and as safe as we possibly can and have heeded all advice from Public Health England and local Government. Cleaning in school is always of a high standard but we have of course added strategies and additional recourse to benefit all.
The current Government guidance is that schools are to remain open. However, this guidance could change within the next week or two. Should there be a decision to close the school we will text all parents and put a notice on the schools website.
Unless you receive a text message the school will be open.
If you or your child become unwell with the symptoms detailed on NHS website, please ensure you follow the stated guidance and contact the school to advise.
In regards to work for student in case of closure, school will be providing students with a USB with work stored on, and some student may also have working booklets. We are also planning for a “Student Zone” to be placed on the school website so further work can be access through this media.
Over the course of next week we will be asking Year 11 students to provide the school with their personal emails, if they haven’t got a personal email we will support them with setting one up this is so that we can communicate further in regards GCSE work.
These are difficult and extraordinary times but hopefully we can manage the situation calmly and with a considered approach with regards to school. The rest of the country and the containment of this is out of my (sanitised) hands!
