With the assistance of the Department for Education, our Head Teacher, Sara, has put together a guide for parents and carers who are engaged in helping to educate their child remotely.
This year has seen us all face many challenges but the support and assistance of parents, carers, students and colleagues have been exceptional. Thanks to this we have been able to conquer the 2020 school year without any positive COVID-19 cases in the school community.

Our trophy winning football team were honoured to be voted Southwark's Team of the Year
We have dedicated one of our classrooms as an Art Gallery to display our children's fantastic work. We have named the Gallery after our Art Teacher and Deputy Head, Patricia Shaw.

Our garden was officially opened and a plaque unveiled dedicated to our old therapy dog Lucy.
We would like to thank Smith & Wollensky Restaurants and their staff for hosting a special lunch for the students and staff involved in winning the London Youth Games Cup.
For the first time in seven years Southwark have won the London Youth ParaGames Football Tournament with a team made up entirely of Cavendish School students.
We are proud to work with therapists from Guys & St Thomas Trust for our Speech and Language Therapy sessions.

"Sexting" has been hitting the news headlines recently and as a school we have a duty to educate and inform our young people on the laws and consequences of engaging in this kind of activity.

The film "No Victory" is now available online.
The project took place during Spring 2014 and featured students from years 10 & 11.
The film also features our Metropolitan Police Schools Liaison Office, PC Mickey Houlahan in his first acting role.

Last term some of our year 10 and 11 students made a film on cyber bullying.
Some of our students worked on making short films about Bermondsey Square. This project was funded by Bermondsey Square Community Fund.
The government has recently launched a new website to support parents about e-safety. The website has been developed with ParentZone and CEOP.

"Straight Talking" is a charity working to reduce the high rates of teenage pregnancy in the UK.
This year's GCSE Art Exam will took place on Friday 17th April and Monday 20th April.
The recent warm weather has meant that the Bike Maintenance Project can resume and students can get back on their bikes for the summer term.

A programme of outreach work has been designed by Time and Talents and Urban Growth which sees local estates receive a makeover to their open spaces.
Our students in Key Stage 3 have been learning about the First World War as part of the Humanities curriculum. Key Stage 4 students have been learning specifically about Armistice Day during PSHE lessons.
The whole school observed a minutes silence at 11am on the 11th November as a mark of respect to those who gave their lives in WW1 and subsequent conflicts. Some of our year 9 students went to look at the poppies at the Tower of London and Aiden has written the following article about the day.
